Dayton Fashion Week is a platform for designers and artists to showcase their collections in a contemporary fashion week setting featuring local and national designers. Our focus is on emerging and independent fashion designers with a mission of connecting them to boutique, buyers and directly to consumer through runway experiences, pop up shops, networking opportunities and social experiences and the highly curated Dayton Threads an online boutique experience.
We enable designers to collaborate with seasoned stylists, make-up artists, models and photographers to present their collections in the most professional atmosphere imaginable. Recognizing the common thread between designers and boutiques and with an unapologetic focus on the business side of the fashion industry, Dayton Fashion Week is a fresh, re-imagined series of signature events and programs spread across the Miami Valley and led by the historically free-spirited Dayton Emerging Fashion Incubator (DE-FI) LLC.
Our mission is to bridge the gap between fashion designers, retailers, and fashion media with an ultimate goal of garnering global exposure for the area's fashion industry. We are dedicated to empowering creativity, expression, confidence, and individuality and strive to be a strong support system where new, emerging, and independent designers can learn and grow their careers.
Events will range in topic and size. They will consist of meetups, workshops, talks and social gatherings held by individual artists, creative companies and organizations that serve the fashion community in some way.While all Fashion Designers are welcomed to host their own events throughout the week; the designers participating in headlining Runway experiences taking place on Friday, December 13th and Saturday, December 14th are by invitation only. Dayton Fashion Week is currently seeking designers to host pop up shops! We market to buyers, media and directly to end consumers, so you may take wholesale orders as well as sell product in your pop up space. We expect attendees to purchase directly from you, but we encourage you to focus on the media attendance for opportunities to expand your brand to new markets. If you have a location in mind, you are more than welcomed to use it, or we can also assist in helping you find and secure a venue for your event.
Applications to participate are due by September 1, 2019 or until all spots have been filled. Applications will be reviewed in the order they are received, so it is beneficial to complete your application early. There is a $50 fee to apply, any additional cost related to the venue are at the expense of the designer. The Dayton Fashion Week Board will review each application and provide each brand with a yes, no or wait-list answer. Should your application be rejected, 100% of your application fee will be returned to you within 30 days.
Pop-up Shop Participants must provide:
*The editing fee is triggered when an applicant makes a significant change to their event such as the event title or event description after it has been accepted. Changes to speakers or panelists will not incur the fee.
